Magellan is a non-profit association under private law for the representation of Portuguese interests abroad. Active since 2009, the association has offices in Brussels and Porto. In this way, it seeks to ensure the effective monitoring of the entities it represents in national territory, while maintaining close contact with the European institutions and other relevant entities with a presence in Brussels.

In this context, Magellan seeks to understand trends and bring companies and other entities closer to the opportunities offered by the European institutions, including public procurement, grants and financial instruments.

Magellan has developed specialised know-how on internationalisation business opportunities made available by the European institutions, in particular by the European Commission, in order to access European and extra-EU markets. Therefore, Magellan gathers a solid knowledge in European affairs ensured by the experience and training of its collaborators and through partnerships established with entities specialized in different areas of interest.

Additionally, Magellan participates in national and international programmes and projects, assuming various roles, including the coordination of consortia, preparation of market studies and development of communication activities, dissemination and exploitation of results.
