
The BIM Excellence Award aims to value and promote the digitalisation and implementation of BIM at national level through the dissemination and promotion of good practices, especially those resulting from existing standards.
Applications take place between 12 April and 14 May, and interested entities may apply in the categories of “Simulation and Design”, “Planning and Construction”, and “Management of the Built Environment – Buildings and Infrastructures”. The finalists will be revealed on 31 May 2021.
Rita Moura, president of Cluster AEC/PTPC, will be one of the members of the Jury. This Jury will be chaired by António Aguiar Costa, R&D Director of BUILT CoLAB and President of CT197 – BIM, and will also include representatives from leading institutions in the AEC Sector: Claúdia Antunes (Order of Architects), Fernando Pinho (Order of Engineers), Francisco Teixeira Bastos (Instituto Superior Técnico), João Poças Martins (Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto), Miguel Azenha (University of Minho) and Paula Couto (National Laboratory of Civil Engineering).
The BIM Excellence Award was created by CT197-BIM, the National BIM Standardisation Technical Committee, consisting of dozens of voluntary experts who contribute to BIM standardisation. In 2021, BUILT CoLAB, the AEC Cluster and PTPC – Portuguese Technological Platform for Construction will join this initiative, with the aim of promoting good practices and raising awareness of the industry and public administration for the need of digital transition in construction.
